Description: 

Taproot with few laterals. Semi-woody annual herb in warm temperate areas, woody annual shrub or short-lived perennial in frost-free areas. Pale yellow flowers. The seeds are roasted and used as a coffee substitute. The leaves are used as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory... All parts can be poisonous.
