ProteaWorldOnline list Protea abrotanifolia Andrews as a synonym but they list it as a synonym of Serruria foeniculacea R.Br. also. In addition they show: Serruria barbigera Salisb. ex Knight, Serruria eriocephala Steud., Protea glomerata Thib. ex Meisn., Serruria nitida R.Br., Serruria parilis Salisb. ex Knight, Leucadendron serraria Burm.f. ex Meisn., Serruria squarrosa R.Br.

R.Br. cites Protea sphaerocephala L. (Herb. Linn.) exclus. syn. Bergii and Protea abrotanifolia Andrews.

R.Br. cites Protea cyanoides Thunb. under Serruria nitida R.Br. which would make it a synonym also.
