Description: 

Introduced by Messrs. Lee and Kennedy in 1800... Stem slender, dark red, decumbent, nearly smooth. Leaves 1 to 1 1/2 inch long, thinly 2-pinnatifid, their callus point like a little beak, almost glossy. Head nearly sessile. Lower Bractes smooth, upper ones cottony. Stigma linear. (Cult. Prot.)
