Description: 

Perennial herb with grass-like leaves. Flowers on a tall spike above the leaves, pink.

From Bot. Reg. A greenhouse plant, flowering most part of the summer.

History: 

Published in Sp. Pl., ed. 4 [Willdenow] 4: 146 in 1805. The name is accepted (ARS-Grin) but unresolved (PlantList).

Native to Australia.

Also published in Bot. Reg. 1: 90 in 1815.

From Bot. Reg. It was found by Sir Joseph Banks in New South Wales; afterwards by Mr. Brown in Van Diemen's Island.

Introduced by Mr. P. Good in 1803.
