Description: 

Small white flowers with yellow centers in late summer to autumn. Attractive to butterflies and rabbit resistant (Oudolf). Tolerates clay soil and dry soil. Leaves are long and narrow and heath-like.

Cultivars: 

'Blue Star' - Compact form to 2' tall with narrow leaves and pale blue flowers. Drought tolerant.

History: 

Published in Phytologia 77: 280 in 1995.

My Experience: 

I purchased a 1-gallon plant at the Hort. Club sale for Plantapalooza in April 2013 and planted it in the Five Trees Garden. It was nibbled by rabbits and/or deer. In August I moved it to the Pool Lawn Border.
