My Experience: 

I purchased a 7-gallon plant from The Unique Plant in June 2011 and planted it by the side of the garage in the Almost Shade Garden (the sunny part). It started to put out big new shoots in September 2011 and by the end of summer 2012 had grown upright to about 6' tall.
