Yellow/golden foliage. Upright cone-shape. Grows about 9" per year. Deer resistant. Needs good drainage.
Discovered as a single plant growing among a population of plants of the cultivar 'Martin' in Steensel, The Netherlands in 2002.
I purchased a 2-gallon plant from Laymans in October 2011 and planted it in the Gumball Border Garden. It has done very well in that it has not scorched or lost leaves and the deer have left it alone. However, it has not got any bigger in two years. It seems happy but tiny. Perhaps it was wrongly labelled but I cannot find anything else that looks like this and the description of this plant fits except for growth rate. I also found mention of this plant online being bought from Lowes around the time when I got mine, and Laymans grows for Lowes.
