Description: 

From Bot. Repos. Whortle-berry with leaves tapering to both ends, a little sawed at the edges and falling off; flowers grow in long bunches, foot-stalks with floral leaves, cups reflexed, blossoms cylinder-shaped. Ten Chives.

History: 

Published in Hortus Kew. 2: 12 in 1789.

Also published in Bot. Reg. 5: 400 in 1819 and Bot. Repos. 2: 138 in 1801. This very handsome species of Whortleberry was introduced, from North America, in the year 1765 by Mr. John Cree, Nurseryman, of Addlestone, amongst many others.

Synonym of Vaccinium corymbosum L. (See Flora of North America).

Basionym of Cyanococcus amoenus (Aiton) Small.
