Description: 

Single trunk or multi-stemmed. Zig-zag stems. Compound leaves, feathery, to 4" long. Small, yellow flowers at the leaf axils. Seedpods, brown to 6: long.

Described by Catesby in his Natural History Volume II plate 44.

History: 

Native to Florida, the Caribbean and South America.

Published in Phytologia 87(3): 168 in 2006.

Basionym Mimosa tortuosa L.

Synonym Acacia tortuosa (L.) Willd.
