Description: 

Dense, compact habit. Dark green leaves, paler below, narrow, glossy. Green-white flowers in clusters, followed by black, egg-shaped berries.

Size is listed as anywhere from 3' tall to 10' tall and 5' wide to 8' wide.

History: 

Introduced in 1901 by Ernest Wilson. Native to China and Taiwan.

Published in J. Linn. Soc., Bot. 23: 355 in 1888.
