Description: 

Shrub to small tree. Aromatic foliage, compound, grey-green with 5 to 7 leaflets. Fragrant lilac flowers in panicles in summer. Attracts bees and butterflies. Well-drained soil.

History: 

Goodness Grows introduction in 1983, selected for its cold hardiness, larger flower panicles and deeper color.

My Experience: 

I purchased a 3-gallon pot at McCorkles in June 2013 and planted it in the Golf Course Hedge. It was much too close to the Willow so in spring 2014 I moved it to the Wild Or Wacky garden.
