Description: 

Deciduous. Glossy green fronds, pinkish in spring, to 2' long. Likes moist well-drained soil. Takes some sun if soil is consistently moist. Spreads by rhizomes - perhaps too much! Deciduous.

History: 

Published in Index Fil. (T. Moore) 45 in 1857.

Native to Canada and the eastern and central US.
